The thing is pretty quiet. It's well done. Another reviewer indicated that the base broke quickly. I almost didn't buy it because of that. I bought it anyway. I see him breaking it, but he must have been rougher on it than he said. He's not that weak. You can see it here on my desk at work. I'm a programmer and this laptop gets a little warm when I'm working. This solves this problem. I also have a touchscreen and the lift, the highest position, makes it easy to use. I like simple 2 buttons for 3 settings, 1 fan, 4 others or all 5. Nice simple design.
