Review on Dritz 626 Seam Guide Magnetic by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Too bad the cars still came with these!

I remember my mother's old Singer had a screw-in seam guide and most machines of the day had one. Somehow that doesn't seem to be standard anymore. Anyway, I was fed up with uneven seams and wanted something that was inexpensive and would work with my machine (a fairly basic 8 year old Kenmore). That is exactly what is needed. What I like is that the magnet is strong so it doesn't move while sewing. Although it's durable, you can move it to another location, meaning it pulls up easily if you want to take it off or move it. It's also the right size without taking up too much space. All in all, the small price is worth it for keeping my seams even and straight. I wish I had bought one a year ago.

Pros
  • Used for sewing straight seams, pleats and non-marking pleats
Cons
  • Requires rosette
