Review on Sony A6000 Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera: SELP1650 Lens Kit - Black (24.3MP) - Ultimate Photography Experience by Bong Cha ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best I have ever used, great product for anyone!

Before the A6000, there was NEX-3 (I bought the system to try, and in general mirrorless cameras). I have never regretted the purchase. The camera suits everyone. Image quality, functionality, size, control, electronic viewfinder. You won't find better for this money. It makes no sense to buy a DSLR, it is larger, heavier, it’s hard to take a DSLR with you on a trip, it’s uncomfortable to wear every day, and this camera fits in your pocket. The electronic viewfinder is much more convenient and informative than the optical one (shooting parameters and histogram, choice of focus points). Those who say that it slows down and has low detail have not seen EVF on modern cameras (or just old school lovers who do not like everything new)) Even if it yields to a cool and expensive DSLR in quality, it will win in size, you can take it with you more often and get more cool shots, because the most interesting things always happen unexpectedly)) And this camera can always be with you. If the battery drains quickly, you can turn on the offline mode, it will turn off the wireless modules and add some more autonomy

Pros
  • 1. Quality. Works great in rain or snow 2. High working ISO. I shoot up to 1600, you can get a sane image from RAW 3. In any mode except Auto / Superior Auto, you can set the upper ISO limit 4. With manual optics, focusing is a pleasure. Focus Peaking + Zoom in EVF - work comfortably. I photographed sports competitions on manual optics, there are more hits in sharpness than misses, and than autofocus on an entry-level DSLR 5. A lot of phase detection autofocus points. Works across the entire plane, and not like on Canon / Nikon DSLRs of the initial, amateur class 6. Phase detection autofocus when shooting video 7. High burst speed - 10 frames per second, again, it’s convenient for manual optics, you can make a series and turn the sharpness ring, then choose a good frame 8. Through the adapter you can put almost any optics, a short working length 9. The exposure meter and Focus Peaking work in any mode, with any optics, and not like on Nikon - the exposure meter turns off if the optics are without a chip and only the M mode works (models up to 7xxx) 10. No EVF lag compared to NEX-6 11. Very light and small 12. Multi-frame noise reduction 13. Ability to install additional applications. (Yes, and it works on Android, you can find a few custom programs for it on the Internet, except for the official ones from Sony) 14. Flip screen 15. Electronic front curtain. Reduces shutter lag and increases shutter life 16. Lots of stabilized optics in the E-mount park. For example SEL50F18. For Canon/Nikon, there is no analogue of 50mm with image stabilization. 17. Quality kit lens. It shows itself best at 18mm F5.6. There are problems with focusing, but most likely I got such a sample 18. It is possible to control from a smartphone. The setting of all camera parameters works, as well as zoom, if the optics with a motorized zoom
Cons
  • 1. The most noticeable drawback for me is that phase autofocus does not work with adapters for other optics (LA-EA1, EF-NEX and others), phase autofocus requires an adapter with a translucent mirror, which is very expensive. In the A6300 and A7M2, this flaw was fixed with a software ate, but this camera was forgotten. 2. Expensive optics, and there are not enough of them. For example, finding a 50mm F1.4 with autofocus is unrealistic, it simply does not exist. Only via adapter with A-mount 3. Something needs to clean the matrix. There is no mirror, all the dust settles on the matrix. And it settles a lot. The built-in cleaning system will not always save
