Review on Cuisinart SS 20 Thermal Single Serve Coffeemaker by Michael Wilson

Explosive set in coffee, tea and espresso

STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT BUYING THIS BRAND OF COFFEE! THIS IS EXPENSIVE WASTE! We bought our Cuisinart SS-20 in February 2020. It was nice but difficult to fill the main tank without a funnel. At least once a month, and sometimes more often, while making morning coffee, ground coffee explodes in the fresh water tank, the coffee pot, and the entire coffee station. A complete mess that needs cleaning up. And when using a sieve, coarse sediment comes out with the last cup of coffee. I switched to paper filters and there was no sediment but we still had splatter and mush. A one-cup coffee maker explodes every time, so we stopped using it. I will never buy this coffee maker again, especially for the money we paid for it. I wouldn't advise others to buy either. There sure is a good coffee maker, it was worse than the Keurig we had but not as bad as Hamilton Beach. To top it off, Conair, the company behind the Cuisinart name, will replace the coffee maker but won't extend the warranty until I can use it. Basically they give me a "new coffee maker" but can't guarantee it will work better than the first one I bought.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Gloomy hardware
