I've always had the fabric drying mats. My current ones were getting pretty old and not as absorbent. I came across this product and thought what the heck it can't be any worse then my current solution. I was totally wrong. Where has this been all my life? It is much better then the fabric one, you don't have to be constantly washing it or having stinky wet fabric hanging around the kitchen. I got the large size and while it did seem a bit smaller then I anticipated, I may purchase the XL size in the future. Unless you have very limited space, I would go with the XL size.
