Oh my god I use this with a jacket lining under a long sleeve blue denim work shirt under a long cozy quilted vest. The vest prevents the wind from carrying heat away from the lower back. For maximum comfort, try a thin polypropylene/polyester base layer with long sleeves and fleece on the skin under the lining of the jacket. Don't use cotton next to your skin, it will retain moisture and you'll catch a cold. A snood around the neck keeps the heat well away from the collar. We have just returned from a 328 mile trip in the low 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature control upstairs and downstairs is so wonderful, warm and cosy. :-) Shimess?
