This is a good device but the instructions could definitely be written better. Likewise, everyone knows it. It takes about 3-5 minutes for the cooling device to turn on when the temperature gets too high. Let's say you want it to be at 95 and it goes through, the heater turns off but the cooler takes a while to turn on. If the temperature continues to rise the cooler will turn on, but when it reaches 96 the heater will turn off and wait to see if it drops before turning on the cooler. It's been 3 weeks since I wrote my review and I have to say I'm annoyed. Do not use this for an incubator. This made me get up at 3am and the problem is I set the damn thing to keep the incubator warm at about 85-88 but what good is that when the HEATER GOES BELOW 85 😂 THIS DEVICE IS A JOKE. Also, good luck making sure the chickens don't lay on the thermometer piece. I've tried taping and many other ways and they still manage to overlap it and give off the heat flakes. I wouldn't trust your chickens' lives to this thermometer. He froze my chickens. They were fine 😊 but not thanks to this thermometer. AND THE WORST. I try to call the company number on the package to sort it out but they refuse to answer, in fact I get a voicemail every time. This whole company is garbage.
