Review on πŸ”¦ Dorman 68169 License Plate Light Lens for Ford/Lincoln Models - Enhanced SEO by Jermaine Munajj

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Downgraded from 5 stars to 1

I gave a star rating at first, but now I have to resign. After about a year of using standard bulbs, the clear inner lenses melted and one unit's black plastic cover came loose. In addition, when these blocks are mounted on the rear bumper, light leaks out. Dorman has provided a replacement and I will be using LED bulbs so overheating will not be a problem. As for light leaks, I sealed the gaps/seams between the outer shell and the inside of the new blocks with black RTV, which should solve this issue. Save yourself a lot of hassle and just spend the extra cash on Ford OEM units. F150 was perfect. For those considering buying them, be aware: Ford used two different plug indexes for the tail light bulb (and I'm not sure what year they were changed). The attached picture shows the back of this part. Note one large index slot and three smaller ones. My 1999 F150 uses a lamp mount and lens assembly that looks exactly like this one, but when you flip it over it has two large slots opposite each other and two smaller ones. I know this because before purchasing I just wanted to swap parts from '99 for '03 and they didn't fit.

Cons
