The factory socket did not fit.

This item was advertised as fitting a 2001 Ford Ranger. It looks the same as the factory part, but the socket tabs don't mate, making installation impossible without changing the width of the tab size.

Won't rotate or snap into place

Purchased to replace a blown bulb and a blown bulb on a 2012 F-150. They fit snugly in the bumper, but the stock bulb socket won't rotate and lock, rendering them useless. They were so cheap that sending them back would have been more hassle than they were worth. However, I expected more from Dorman.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Quality

Don't buy them unless you want lighting issues in the near future.

They are not moisture sealed like the OEM. I bought 1 just to see if it's worth changing the OEM flashlight body and it's not. Just buy genuine Ford parts and don't waste your money on these poorly designed units. I bought new LED lightbulbs and don't trust them to protect them from inclement weather.

  • Handy item

Needs modification to work

I bought this for my 2002 Ranger and from the front it fits perfectly. The back, however, is not. The cross-shaped opening on the back was too small to fit into an outlet. I had to check the original and then use a couple of small wire cutters to cut out a larger cross. I got it working but it's not a perfect seal so I'll add some silicone at the end. Just a warning. Maybe there are better ones.

does the job; Do not stick in/out of hole in bumper

Really fits 2009 F150; Not exactly the same as the original, but they're not that easy to find. I advise caution when installing and then uninstalling and reinstalling; I accidentally ripped the case off the frame on this unit, but was able to glue it back together with superglue. I also used some WD40 (lightweight) to allow it to slide into the groove with the least amount of friction. I ordered another one (live/training) but didn't need to use it (save for later).

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Some difficulty

Close, but no cigar.

I have used many Dorman parts in the past. They are generally a great aftermarket supplier so being able to get this brand from Revain is a huge plus. However, this time the lens just didn't fit in my bumper, so I accepted it and ordered an OEM from my local dealer. It took several days to get here, but the big surprise was that it cost less than two dollars. Replacing the lamp costs more than the lens. In any case, Revain was great at giving me my money back. I'll try Revain first thoughโ€ฆ

Downgraded from 5 stars to 1

I gave a star rating at first, but now I have to resign. After about a year of using standard bulbs, the clear inner lenses melted and one unit's black plastic cover came loose. In addition, when these blocks are mounted on the rear bumper, light leaks out. Dorman has provided a replacement and I will be using LED bulbs so overheating will not be a problem. As for light leaks, I sealed the gaps/seams between the outer shell and the inside of the new blocks with black RTV, which should solveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
