Since I didn't purchase this laptop for myself, I didn't want to void the warranty by installing any additional memory. Casters are required for the installation of Windows 7, and while Win8.1 was installed without trouble, I was unable to locate the necessary drivers for my graphics card and wireless network and was forced to upgrade to the most recent 10k, which is far less stable and performs more slowly than the 8k it replaced. After the adjustments, 10ka started behaving more normally; in general, the laptop performs admirably when used for office work and web browsing, and it also conveniently removes the NVME disk. The laptop's low power limit ( 15w) means that the frequency of the processor (and even memory!) constantly jumps, causing friezes and stutters in games, even if the memory is set to 2-channel. I got this laptop during an offer and paid a little over $22 for it, which is about right. However, if you're planning to pay full price, I'd suggest looking into other brands because the case is dreadful, even if it seems to be the trend these days. A 4GB SKHynix 4Gb DDR4-3200 module is installed in one of the laptop's two memory slots, but the slot doesn't support speeds higher than 2400 and its timings are stuck at 17-17-17. Since the AMD BIOS hasn't been as thoroughly researched as Intel's, the Ryzen Master won't cooperate, and the Quick CPU won't make any sense, undervolting and RAM overclocking are out of the question.
