Review on MotoRad 7340-195 Fail-Safe Thermostat for Optimal Performance by Derrick Villarreal

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Say failure! for engine cooling and air conditioning

The thermostat works for about a month, once it gets to about 70 degrees Fahrenheit and sitting idle for enough time the car warms up to operating temp a little hot, the fan runs and boom, the thermostat opens and the car temperature drops by 60 or 70 degrees! The next time you drive, you realize that the temperature never rises above 125 degrees, sometimes stays at 100 degrees during the day and there is no significant heat in the car. that the temperature is 195 fi. I used another in my 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 2.4 DOHC that was running at 195F and was similarly stuck. The only one I bought that worked was in my 3.3 SOHC 1992 Chrysler New Yorker (it works now anyway - bought October 2012).

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
