Review on ASRock Mini ITX Motherboard AB350 Gaming ITX by Wiktor Winiewski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Matches the description completely, very satisfied.

I was looking for a mini-itx motherboard for a media box, this board attracted me with a decent "iron" part for a reasonable price. I decided to take it, since enough time has passed since the release of the am4 platform and ASRock pulled up the software part (bios), eliminating most of the problems. There is no way to manage LLC in BIOS. Perhaps LLC will be added in subsequent bios, as they added the ability to control the SOC NB voltage. So, for example, in firmware 4.70 with AGESA 1.0.0.4, they added the ability to change the frequency and voltage of the built-in video core. There are also more preset RAM frequency dividers, for example, you can set 3400 Mhz in addition to 3466. Memory can be driven in two ways - simple through the ASRock preset or through semi-manual in the advanced settings, where for some reason the hexadecimal system is used instead of the usual decimal. Through a convenient ASRock preset, you can drive both memory with XMP and without XMP! Two different sets of memory on Samsung and Hynix chips took 3466. Another huge plus of the motherboard is the sound on Realtek ALC1220, for which I am ready to forgive all the shortcomings. In general, a suitable mother with good equipment at a moderate cost can be taken.

Pros
  • Price for mini-itx format Memory overclocking Memory Compatibility Superb sound on Realtek ALC1220 Built-in WIFI, BT
Cons
  • Not the most convenient bios in terms of the lack of some real-time indicators of the set frequencies, voltages . (visible only through third-party software such as iada 64)
