After deciding to order an SSD for my 2006 Mac Pro, I looked at a popular brand mount, but didn't understand why the SSD needed to be connected to more electronics that then got connected to an internal SATA slot. I read the reviews and watched a few videos about it and decided to give it a try, fully expecting to return it out of frustration. Well, it took about 15 minutes to install the SSD on the tray and install it into the drive bay. The trick seems to be making sure everything lines up before finally inserting it into the slot. It was pretty tight, but I didn't have to bend anything. If so, I would send the tray back. Could this be designed a little better for easier installation? May be. It works out? it was for me And there is no unnecessary electronics between my SSD and the SATA port. I'll be buying another one for the second SSD I'm putting in this Mac Pro.
