Doesn't work on all Mac Pros. Try your luck?

Apparently it works on some but not on my MP 2008. There is a hint that some macros have overly puckered lips and tell us to pucker them. I couldn't get him to come up and do anything but frustrate, waste time, scrape aluminum shavings and shower. Not good. It seems to me that it doesn't allow for normal deviations and tolerances, and the cheap screws they supply stick out too much. The holes are not even sewn. If the plate were bent differently and the screw heads sat at the same height, it…

Doesn't work on computers and accessories

It didn't work for me. My Mac Pro Drive sled has rubber bushings. The instructions and video say that if there are grommets, they must be left, which I did. No matter what I tried, the metal plate was crooked because of those grommets. I called the number given in the instructions, left a verbose voicemail but they never answered me. Revain refunded my money and I purchased an alternative product.

Not the most comfortable and elegant design, but it suited me.

After deciding to order an SSD for my 2006 Mac Pro, I looked at a popular brand mount, but didn't understand why the SSD needed to be connected to more electronics that then got connected to an internal SATA slot. I read the reviews and watched a few videos about it and decided to give it a try, fully expecting to return it out of frustration. Well, it took about 15 minutes to install the SSD on the tray and install it into the drive bay. The trick seems to be making sure everything lines up…

Like everything else in life, you may need to gamble.

This gets 5 stars because it works and the price. As with anything else in life you may have to play with alignment to get everything to fit and connect, but all 4 slides work for me. Check out the easy installation video on Youtube. . Conclusion: I have 4 drives Samsung Pro 850 SSD 1TB on Mac Pro with dual x5687 Xeons. I can chew and spit a lot with this attitude until the x5690 gets cheaper.

Pros
  • Good for many
Cons
  • Sad packaging

I definitely got my $10. To .

I definitely got my $10. After reading the instructions that led me to insert the product backwards, I found that after inserting the sled, there was a gap of about 2mm between the SSD and the connector. I overcame this problem by basically saying "F", manually plugging in the drive with the product screwed on, and simply attaching the SOB to the ceiling of my 2009 Mac Pro. Remember ladies and gentlemen, you get what you pay for!

  • Very Good Price

Complete garbage!: Internal SSDs

Lucky me! I bought three of these. Revain limit allowed. At least someone didn't take advantage of consumers since they only allowed us to buy three of these useless items. As someone else pointed out, the holes are unthreaded, the screw heads are so large that they interfere with the "sliding" aspect of the Mac Pro disk sled, and the alignment of the drive connectors with the backplane connectors is far from perfect. After some fiddling, I decided that the potential dangers of incomplete…

I have 2009 4, 1 Mac Pro and .

I have a Mac Pro 4.1 from 2009 and wanted to install an SSD in it. In my case at least, I didn't want to bend the slide tabs on my machine, nor did I want to follow the instructions for spacers on the tab side of the board. The screws in the kit did not screw in smoothly and the screw heads are thicker than the original screws so the tabs in the box need to be bent for this kit to work. My friend got a sled from OWC and had no problems. So I decided to spend a little more and buy a sled from…
