absolute rubbish. Worst $15 Ever Spent

Bought for my Kawasaki Ninja as their little 'internal' filters just don't cut it. I used cheap $4 plastic parts from the parts store until I found this. It seemed worth it as it could be cleaned. I'm an ASE certified automotive technician and I can make things work. So I thought. Out of the box the filter seemed great, great construction and finish. Opened, cool brass micron filter, cleanable. Then I noticed this mating surface where the body meets the head. The whole thing was marred by serious potholes, I immediately assumed it must be a leak, that's how bad they were. Then I noticed a flat rubber o-ring in the head, so a plastic o-ring. So I poked it lightly with a pencil, ripped it off and watched the hard rubber hold its shape for a while. Much longer than any O-ring I encounter on a daily basis. So I install it and guess what, it leaks! And best of all, my bike is carbureted, so it doesn't need any fuel pressure other than gravity. There were notches on the mating surface. I took it out, cleaned the surface on a belt sander and tried again. Guess what! Still leaking, just not as much. Can't seal it with a new GENUINE o-ring or whatever and just not worth sending back.
