The mounting holes for the SSD match perfectly, but the mounting threads/mounting holes in the 3.5" case are so misaligned that they cannot be mounted in some PC cases. there are oblong closures in the compartment, no problem. In some cases I've updated there are only attachment points with no flexibility. In these cases, the mount simply won't work. It is also worth noting that the material they are made of is very fragile and thin. I would suggest a different mount/adapter if you want to save yourself the hassle.
