Honey Bunny's 2006 Chevy Impala AC Heater/Fan Will Not Turn Off Even After The Key Is Removed. To keep the battery from dying, I removed the fuse from the machine to cut power to the fan. Then I went to Youtube and found this is exactly the part I need. The original part was held in place by a single 5.5mm screw and two permanent plastic "rivets". I knocked out the plastic rivets and pulled a spare screw from my stash I've accumulated from my junkyard days. The part worked as expected and the 2006 Impala now works properly. The whole job took about 15 minutes as I am an experienced handyman. Through my research, I've saved $200-$300 by doing the work myself. Remember that if this part is defective and you are replacing it, also check the fan to make sure there are no foreign objects inside that could cause this part to fail.
