I'm not a professional but I had to do quite a bit of hard work installing hardbackers and hardy siding. The notch and snap method doesn't work for me unless I'm using 1/4" stock. I went with a Hitachi Hardi saw blade but it creates too much dust which is of course dangerous. Using the Saw the blade was in a respirator and goggles Pros * These scissors are great because for the cost of two strong blades and half the cost of special scissors you can turn a drill into scissors * They cut fast and allow directional cutting and * You can cut fairly straight just by jabbing a line with chalk I wear a NIOSH particulate respirator and goggles (as opposed to a respirator and goggles if I'm working with a saw blade).* With a HEPA -Filter vacuum when cutting, I even cut in the work area, not outside and carry it inside.* As with many Malco products, you can purchase replacement parts order for wear bits CONS* The end of the drill bit gets a bit heavy, so if that's what you do for a living, "specialized" scissors might work better for you.* Took a few minutes to adjust this for my drill press. So it's not something I would pick up and turn off. Have another drill bit for the actual drilling while you work at work.
