Reversing camera Master Tailgaters 2007 Tundra

I recently ordered this camera for my Tundra 07. I only have 80,000 on my truck and I was thinking of trading them in for just navigation, Apple Car Play and a backup camera. My truck has paid for itself over many years and I love my truck very much. Instead of trading, I decided to make a few payments and keep it to myself. This camera was purchased with Kenwood DNX995s. I really wanted a factory look and this camera/stereo combo fitted it well. Removal and installation of the tailgate inner trim was very easy - probably 8 hex torx screws. The tricky part was running the video cable and power cables under the truck and through the firewall into the truck cab. S-Video connected directly to the Kenwood head unit. Night vision is more than enough, especially after I upgraded the reversing lights. The overall picture quality, while not 4K HD, is as good if not better than any of my other new cars with factory cameras. Some people have said their handle was tight or the tailgate was difficult to open, but I haven't experienced anything like this. I keep my old latch in case I need parts or have problems along the way. A gold nugget for you all: The Kenwood stereo system, like many modern head units, has adjustable parking grid lines. This tailgate camera also comes with pre-installed parking grid lines. Since the camera is mounted off-center in the tailgate release handle, the Master Tailgater lines are also disabled. Also, it was annoying that they crossed Kenwood lines. I've read that some camera grids can be disabled, but I haven't found anything on the internet about the Master Tailgater camera. So I took a chance and wrote a letter to the manufacturer, and after a couple of hours I got a reply. They instructed me to carefully cut the black plastic sleeve just behind the camera with a utility knife not to cut any of the tiny wires. Then find the white wire and cut it. *Presto* no more crooked redundant grid lines! Hooray! Now I've adjusted the Kenwood lines and you can hardly tell the camera is slightly off center of the truck. So far I'm very happy with this setup and I really like my new rear camera. It makes it much easier to hook up my boat myself.
