PAI cool, slice not so good

So I used this slice on my Moto Z Force over the weekend. not as much. Setup was easy but required restarting the app in the middle of a firmware update. The app screen says don't do it, but after being stuck at 9% for 20 minutes, I did it anyway. After reopening the app, the update was done quickly. The form factor for it is good. Unobtrusive (I have black). The device itself is exactly what I was looking for. For comparison, I wear this on one arm and my Fitbit on the other. (This isn't a Blaze vs. Slice review, but I used my flame as a base). This is where my frustration begins. Step Counting - I know this isn't about that, but c'mon, it shows less than 1000 steps per day if I've spent 45 minutes at Costco? I think Fitbit reports steps, but it's more accurate than Slice.Sleep - again, Blaze does a much more accurate job. The Slice just says I get 7 hours and 20 minutes of sleep every night, which is just not true. Sleep information aside, I just don't think it's anywhere near as accurate as sleep monitoring. The battery is a big disappointment. The site says 4-5 days. Support actually told me 2-3 if I use what I do all day. In practice, it takes about 18 hours, and the maximum I can get from his workout program is 30 minutes a day. Heart rate is great! This is the main reason I got this and online reviews have been spot on for accuracy. Way better (much) than my Fitbit during workouts. Software. So the new PAI app and tracking is very cool. Since HR is done so well on Slice, I also really like the PAI tracking. I really like the idea of a metric to measure activity that isn't tied to the number of steps. If I clean my bathroom/kitchen thoroughly, I know I'm exercising, but I'm pretty sure I'm not taking any steps. So I trust the PAI summary of my activity level via the Fitbit general "This is your weekly pedometer". In the end I will return it and try MΓo Link. I don't want a watch as I have a collection of watches that I would rather wear (no link shown). That way I can try another device still using the PAI app.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
