Large capacity pannier style bike bag with strong metal straps and slides into converting to a backpack.I've tried quite a few rack bags and this one is definitely worth considering if you need a bag this big.Rack Mount: This bag attaches to a bike rack with two plastic coated metal clips that slide along the top edge of the rack.. The Metal rods on my rack are approximately 16.3mm in diameter These clips install and remove quickly and feel secure when installed They strike a good balance of ease of installation/removal and durability while riding It there is no third clip below.The limited mount may not be suitable for very rough riding, but for riding on tarmac the mount mechanism is ideal. The only problem I've noticed is that the two clips aren't connected by a rigid structural member. When the bag becomes very full, the surface of the bag with clips begins to bulge with a certain curvature. In this case, the clamps are no longer properly aligned to slide easily onto a straight bar. Conversion between pannier and backpack: The conversion is quick and easy. A padded flap folds down to convert to a backpack to close the clips. The flap is held over the clips by a zipper with a large loop that pulls out easily. Use as a backpack: It's great that this bicycle bag can be converted into a backpack. This makes it suitable for transport on and off the bike. Compared to other panniers that have a shoulder strap and exposed hooks and clasps and are difficult to carry, this design is a definite improvement. I haven't used it with heavy loads in a long time, but for commuting, the conversion feature makes it easier to take with you when you get off the bike. The valve over the clips is soft enough that the clips don't cause any discomfort. Capacity: I used this bag to hold a grocery bag along with two spare bike inner tubes, a small pump, and a few other tools. However, filling this amount can make it difficult to mount on a bike rack due to the bulge of the face with clips.
