My daughter's teacher wanted all of the students in her class to buy headphones (for iPod lessons), but some of the kids at school have low incomes. I wanted to pay around $20 for a pair of headphones that my kid would use for a year, so I figured $40 isn't much more. I was able to buy enough headphones for each student in her class to have three for a year. These headphones exceeded my (albeit very low) expectations. It's very no frills. I tried one of these all day and was glad to be back with my (more expensive) headphones. The sound is tolerable for me, but quite suitable for students. For less than $1, they work. So far her teacher hasn't reported any of this not working. They come individually boxed and seem perfect for school (and possibly other) settings. If you lose headphones frequently they will probably do, but I'd prefer a better quality for everyday use.
