They work as designed for mouse and keyboard.

I have a gaming mouse and keyboard that I really like. Since I use my TV as my computer display and use my computer for everything from gaming to streaming, I needed a long cable. I'm tired of switching from gaming to wireless every time I move away from my computer. It's perfect for that. I haven't had any connection issues (like the last set I bought) even when I'm away from my computer and moving cables. The USB ports from my mouse and keyboard fit perfectly. I will be buying another set as a backup in case my grandkids ruin them or break them from normal wear and tear.
