I ordered this cable with my separately purchased audio device. The device already had the cable so I went back to return this unopened item 2 days after receipt. Apparently this cable is non-returnable. Be 100% confident in your purchase because you will stick with it!

I bought this to provide permanent power to a rechargeable LED light with motion detection that sits next to my garage door. * Save me charging. Used an old USB power adapter, plugged it into that, routed the cable to the flashlight and used the USB to MicroB cable that came with the flashlight to make the connection. Mainly use it as a USB extender.

I was very sad to discover that none of my laptops were able to recognize and use this cable after it arrived. It's one thing to sell a bad cable; however, prohibiting the return of DOA goods is quite another matter. Very disappointed with the return policy of Revain and Monoprice (manufacturers of poor quality cables). I highly recommend that you spend another dollar or two to buy a cable from another manufacturer.

I ran one of these over the wall to attach a Flirc IR receiver and connect it to my Shield TV. This worked great for my purposes. 15 feet for the price is great! Flirc is a device that allows you to use any remote control for your set top box. When I press a button on the remote, it instantly processes the click on my set top box, so having this cable is a win for me! I don't need my TV box to be visible under the TV and thanks to this extension cable it still works great!

Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I installed a small 2A 5V LED bulb near the ceiling for backlighting. I tried powering and charging this cable at the same time. When I connect the flashlight to a power source with the cable that came with it, it turns on, lights up and charges at the same time. I tested this with 2 different chargers with different current ratings. Standard 1 amp iPhone charger and premium 2.1 amp charger. With the software on my cell phone, I was able to read the current current. I have found that both chargers connected to this cable can only supply around 500mA. Going straight to the chargers, the iPhone charger gave me about 800mA and the 2.1A charger gave me about 1200mA. My phone was about 78% charged so it wouldn't draw max current.
