Review on Presse Bobble Tumbler Stainless Portable by Brenda Thompson

I started getting stomach ache. I may know why.

Well, I absolutely love this mug, but there's a problem. I found my stomach hurts every time I drank coffee from this mug. I think I understand why. The filter that pushes the coffee, the "inner cup" as in the photo (taken after I cleaned the crap out) has a small gap between the wall and the filter which I drew with arrows and tried to to show the area I first talked about how it looks like a black ring. The metal part of the grille is raised above the ground. This creates a gap between the filter and the wall, a tiny space that can collect old coffee or small beans and is incredibly difficult to clean. I don't even have a tool that can clean it exactly so I had to rip out the cardboard it's so tiny. If you shine a light down there, you will see what has accumulated in that room. I had to tape a sheet of cardboard around the rim, this part is circled in red, to clean the mug and I usually clean it pretty well. This cardstock photo was even after I soaked it in bleach and put a bottle brush in it to get it good. So here it is. I like this mug, I might get another one because cleaning is a huge problem. Also you will need to take out the rubber suction part of the filter and clean UNDER the rubber ring, I removed it after cleaning everything else and it was old coffee under the rubber part but that is unavoidable and to be expected. I don't want you to go through this every time you want coffee. And poop too if you skip it right? Nah, not worth it. The pros are that it's pretty dainty and stays hot for a while! And the coffee is very good! Only get it when you're ready to give it a deep clean.

Pros
  • Microfilter separates ground coffee
Cons
  • Unsure
