Update: The seller asked me to change the rating for a refund. Do not do it. This product was so bad. Don't buy this and ruin your trip and car. Be wary of some of these reviews. Some people are buyable... I used this product on a multi week trip over the summer. Fixed to our roof, this topper has survived some heavy downpours. While the items inside mostly stayed dry (I put the items in two giant duffel bags inside the topper), some items were just a little damp. The interior humidity was not a problem at all, the problem was the liters of water that poured into my car every time it rained. I don't have roof racks on my car and used the included clips to attach the straps to my frame. like the instructions. The clips were too bulky and not wide enough to fit snugly against the metal edge of the door frame. This loosened the rubber seal and every time it rained the water would seep into the belt and then start pouring into my car. I tried everything I could, every storm, to stop it. Swapping the clips, pushing the gasket by hand as far into the car's frame as possible, tying up any excess ends of the straps on the outside of the car... nothing worked. Worst of all were the two extra seat belts that are not attached to the frame. They run through the interior of the car as well as around the top to provide extra protection from the bag entering the car. They ended up just putting water in my car when it was raining. I took them off to see if it would help reduce the amount of water in my car which made me nervous my stuff would be more likely to fly off the roof. Even without them, the straps that just attached to the frame let through a lot of water to get me, my husband, our baby and his car seat and all of our stuff wet every time it rained. I spent hours holding towels up to the ceiling and catching water. And because we found covered parking every night, we stopped somewhere so my car wouldn't be completely wrecked. I bought this so I didn't have to store the large hard case in the garage when not in use. Huge waste of money. If I could put 0 stars I would. Also the glossy finish on my car where the belts were has a matte finish on all 4 spots. I tied the bag up as instructed and it still damaged the paintwork.
