Review on ARRMA RC Monster Truck ARA102727T2: Dominate Any Terrain in Style by Michael Hawkins

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A simple POS truck to play around with and a speed controller and receiver combo that sucks!

Only 4 stars for small comments. Lithium-ion batteries 1500 mAh (5-7 minutes runtime) No reliable information on the truck, how long the batteries have to be charged (Edit: Rufly 2.5-3 hours A/C) No parts list in case something breaks (Edit : Go to Arrma website). The transmitter feels/looks cheap. Micro Dean plug instead of standard size. Still happy with the truck. This can work with lithium-ion batteries, for example, because you can get them cheaper than low-lithium, even nickel-metal hydride batteries, even if the truck can use all three. Can run on 2, 4 or 6 cells but looks weird like it runs on AA. Standard batteries will feel HOT afterwards. The seams are pretty strong. ESC/receiver combo burned out after batteries became hot to the touch. The return window has expired and Arrma would like me to send it back to them at their own expense to have it repaired. It would have been cheaper to add the new ESC and motor I already have along with a different radio system and a 3 wire servo instead of the 5 wire Arrma. I have all of these from previous trucks but I can't use the lithium ion batteries that I bought just for this truck. So I have to get all the new batteries again. Extra batteries would be very nice. DO NOT REPEAT, DO NOT buy batteries over 4000mAh. This is a FALSE advertisement! I have some yellow GTL, GIF, GTF (starts with G) "9800mah" and they are SH! TE! 4 full charges gave me 30 seconds. They are also 1-2mm shorter than the original. There's a reason they can be bought for $1 each. 1 Arrma 1500 weighs as much as 4 9800s. That should tell you something. Might cost more but with a Panasonic brand that will set you back £3800 each. Arrma Only is selling his 1500 for $26 for 6. Been driving this truck for a while. What a picture! The rims are torn off. real rim. Then the wheel nut itself is torn off. The locknuts must be tight or they will continue to loosen. Just shattered shock absorbers at 2 foot long jumps and 3-4 feet in grass and leaves, shock absorbers are toy quality. The plastic this thing is made of is CHEAP! You can cut it with a knife by squeezing it so softly. Gears have very, very small teeth. The gear train is fine, but the teeth are so damn small and will break. The arms wobble where they connect because the plastic is stretching and not stretching anymore. So fiddle around a bit. I had to unplug the electronics, couldn't get them to work and had to change the 5 wire servo to the standard 3 wire. It is impossible to put a radiator on the engine. The price is cheap because the truck is cheap. This is my first Arrma truck and I'm NOT happy! I've seen Wal-Fart Crap take more beatings and I'm not even fighting for it. It's only 20-25 mph FFS. My 50 mph Plus Nitro Cen Magnum took one hell of a hit and broke NOTHING! This thing will break on freshly cut grass 2-3 inches thick, as well as driveways and gravel roads.
