If you are interested in an air fryer, but don't have a lot of counter space for a toaster-oven-multifunction-style air fryer, this is a great choice. I had a Vortex previously, which constantly smelled like plastic. I got fed up and returned it, so I was wary with this one. I cleaned the parts as instructed when I received it, I ran a test cycle (400 degrees for 15 min). It smelled a little, so I tried what had been suggested to me on the Vortex (it didn't work on the Vortex, but worked on the Crownful), get a small oven-safe dish, fill about half way with mixture of lemon or lime juice and water 50/50 blend and run a 15 min cycle at 15 min. After that, the Crownful air fryer smelled great and no plastic taste in the food! I did this 4 times on the Vortex, 2 times with lemon juice, 1 time with vinegar and 1 time with a bowl of water.As you see from the photos, I dumped in some delicious sweet potato fries (I have a pump oil sprayer and I just barely spray them with canola oil, because it's thinner and sprays better than olive oil, you don't have to do this, but it adds another level of crispiness and I use so little, it's still way healthier than deep frying). I insert the basket until it's all the way in. I press the power button, then the "M" button (which I think is for "mode") until the freedom fries icon is selected, then I hit power again and my fries are cooking. About half way through, I removed the basket and shook the fries around pretty vigorously, I put the basket back in and the fryer remembered where I left off in the cycle. In the last photo you can see the perfectly-fried crispy and delicious fries.Cleanup is easy, I use a brush to clean the basket grill (because it's like a cheese grater on a soft sponge), then I use a soft sponge to clean the rest.
