Review on Wald 5.25-Inch Rise MTB Handle Bar: Enhance Your Off-Road Riding with Chrome 27.1 #803 by Jake Pavelko

Revainrating 4 out of 5

These handlebars make the ride more comfortable.

My Schwinn Pathway (standard big box hybrid) had straight handlebars and an uncomfortable forward-leaning seat. Too much pressure on my sore tennis wrist and elbow. Also, the weight on my shoulders and the tension in my neck holding my head up to see ahead just didn't suit my needs. These bars serve to enable me to sit more upright. I don't stand up straight unless I'm using the fingertips of one hand on the bar. With both hands on the bars, I lean forward, but at a much smaller angle, and it's more comfortable in every way. I use my bike for recreational purposes and can cover about 10 miles at a leisurely pace on each ride. Basically, it's the neighbors' stuff on city streets, bike lanes and sidewalks, pacing up and down as needed to survive. The handlebars aren't heavy and can bend in the hands of a mad BMX or mountain bike rider, but for the riding described above they're fine. I have a nice chrome finish and all the accessories fit on the steering wheel as they should. At $15, it's a cheap convenience upgrade that means more frequent use and longer rides.
