Review on 🧺 Powerful Laundry Cleaning Kit: Fels Naptha Soap - 3 Bars, Borax & Washing Soda by Mike Schmidt

Doesn't matter! in housewares

Every time I go to the grocery store and spend $15 on a tub of detergent, only to immediately look it up and find it empty, I cringe. After hearing how easy it must have been to make my own, I said what the heck. I ground a Fels Naptha bar in a food processor and added some homemade lavender essential oil. Then I followed the rest of the instructions I found online. This makes about 1 cup of soap, so you'll use 2 cups of borax and 2 cups of washing soda. The water I live in is a notch above gray water and undrinkable. It is very hard and gives a strange smell to my washing machine and often to my clothes as well. This mixture eliminates this odor while fulfilling a dual function. It cleans my family's clothes better than ever and is gentle enough for my child who is under 2 years old. It also cleans my washing machine and helps get rid of weird water odors. My towels have never been softer and smell fresher. I've started using less fabric softener because I feel like I don't need it that much. Call me hippie, call me granola, call me crunchy, call me cheap. It takes less than 10 minutes, stores easily in a plastic or glass container, uses much less than regular detergent (only 1/8-1/4 cup full load, I have a large capacity washer/dryer) and works better. It's even worse when my husband's workout gear makes all my clothes smell like they've been dried in a gentle lavender field breeze.
