Review on AmpliFi HD WiFi System: Whole Home Coverage, HD Router, 2 Mesh Points by Dng Quc Hng ᠌

Good product at a good price, I recommend to try it.

I bought an Asus wl-520gu instead, an inexpensive router that is probably over 10 years old. There was only one problem with him - he could barely reach the back room. Hoped that Amplifi would be much better. In an ordinary two-room apartment, he must finish something everywhere . No. The signal level in the back room is minimal, the speed is such that even on the Internet it is not always possible to work normally. Although, compared to the previous router, it has definitely become better. Ubiquiti professional equipment used to be only enthusiastic impressions, but the consumer device turned out to be not so cool. In short, a rather strange device. The conclusion is this: if you stupidly need a beautiful device in the room and normal power, while you don’t have any wishes for the settings, then the device will suit you. Screenshot of the signal strength in this room.

Pros
  • Stylish, with a touch screen, glows.
Cons
  • Communication range in the apartment is AVERAGE. In a two-room apartment there is not enough power to finish off in the back room, there the signal is a maximum of 3-4 Mbit and not very stable, Skype video is either normal or crumbles. Don't get your hopes up that a 26dBm router with three cool internal antennas will give you very good coverage in an apartment that faces two sides of the house. Somewhere it will, and somewhere it won't. At the same time, the air at 2.4 GHz is, of course, clogged with me. There is no web interface. That is, it is there, but there are only a few settings. The router is configured ONLY through the application on a smartphone / tablet. At least that's how it was at the time of purchase. And there are few settings. In any case, it's not enough for me. I did not understand what kind of crap is this, why is it so uncomfortable. In order to achieve satisfactory Internet quality in the back room, I had to turn on some function in the settings, I don’t remember which one, I wouldn’t have guessed it myself, the American technical support suggested, they answer around the clock in the chat. There is a USB port, but it still cannot be used. Also crap.
