UPDATE: I soaked the scabbard in warm water for a few minutes, slipped it onto the ax blade and stretched the strap to fit. If it fits perfectly now, I've added mink oil to it after drying to put the skin back in order. Increase my rating to four stars. I just received a leather sheath for my ranger axe. I noticed that half the reviews say it fits the Trail Boss Ax and half the reviews say it doesn't. I took a risk and hoped for the best. The blade itself fits perfectly into the scabbard, but the strap lags about an inch behind the latches. I have no idea why the manufacturer didn't add an inch and a half to the length of the leather straps? Aside from the strap being too short, the genuine leather sheath looks well made.
