This door no longer works better than I thought. We struggled with the plastic wedge door stop for years because it wasn't attached to the door and could lose space; and even if it were in its usual place of storage, it would take at least 15-20 seconds and two hands to get it out and open the garage door. When we moved to a new house, the garage door had a larger gap between the door and the floor, and the old wedge wasn't big enough. I was in the process of buying a larger wedge when Revane suggested this kickdown doorstop. Thats much better. It attaches to the door and can be turned on and off with one foot while hands are busy with things. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure you attach the kickdown to the door with the rubber or plastic tip touching the ground in the right place. If you place the kickdown too high or too low on the door, the tip will not hit the ground at the right angle for maximum grip. However, determining this position is not so difficult. And the price is great.
