Will not work with hardwood or tile

I have tried 3 angles: flat and sloping towards and away from the door. The doorstop just doesn't work. Hard plastic leg without handle. Another review mentioned that it doesn't work on carpet either, so be careful. If I pinch the leg properly, it holds the door, but a light touch on the door releases the leg and the door closes. I am returning the 2 stops purchased and will try something else.

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Updated: short lived, poor metal strength

Good price, fast delivery, everything is as it should be. Update: After 1 year of use all 3 kickdown door brackets are falling apart - the bracket separates allowing the hinge pin to come out. The metal is not strong enough for regular use. Note: They are intended to replace blocks that have been in use for over 30 years but have had to be replaced as the rubber feet have worn out. It's amazing when something falls apart in a year.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I won't say anything

THESE DO NOT WORK! SLIDE ON ANY SURFACE! WHAT IS THE POINT?

I have been using these doorstops for years and have never had a problem. So I bought four units of this brand to keep my iRobot Roomba from kicking in doors and getting trapped in space. I set them up the way I always have and check the angle to make sure the bar is hitting the ground evenly and not at an angle. However, it glides flat on both linoleum and carpet. The tips are smooth, hard plastic, not rubber, so they absolutely WILL NOT grab no matter what!

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Works exactly as expected

I have every doorstop known to me and they all slide on a hardwood floor. When I get them under the door I tape a mat in front of them to keep them in place, then they start squeezing or even tearing the seal. It is great. Why didn't I think of that sooner? Love it for the garage door. Be careful when installing. Not only do you have to make sure it's in the right place to open the door, but you also have to make sure the door is closed. I didn't measure for it, and if I put it an inch to the…

MUCH better than wedge doorstops.

This door no longer works better than I thought. We struggled with the plastic wedge door stop for years because it wasn't attached to the door and could lose space; and even if it were in its usual place of storage, it would take at least 15-20 seconds and two hands to get it out and open the garage door. When we moved to a new house, the garage door had a larger gap between the door and the floor, and the old wedge wasn't big enough. I was in the process of buying a larger wedge when Revane…

Pros
  • The spring design keeps the stop in the up position
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Stable and very efficient construction

Construction: Stable and well made. Everything is solid metal. The leg works on my concrete floors. It holds a solid wood door approximately 8 feet high and 42 inches wide with an automatic closure. Installation Tips: To ensure the stopper is installed at the correct height, here are a few tips. intend to use cork the most. This will ensure you account for different floor materials/heights. - Bring the stopper to the stop position (lower position). - Place the stopper against the door and slide

Pros
  • Ribbed rubber foot for a secure grip
