Worked very well for VCR torque testing with GoPro Readout

how we twist fixed rotation angles. The Summit Tools 1/4" Digital Torque Wrench offers this capability with a real-time digital readout on the LCD display, as well as a maximum torque memory function and an audible alarm when the set level is reached. We used all three functions at the same time and it worked great. The challenge we faced was reading the angle of the protractor and the digital readings of the torque wrench at the same time. This was solved by mounting a GoPro camera over the test stand and recording the screwing process on video. We used a GoPro compatible LED underwater light to ensure good illumination of the torque wrench's LCD display. Overall, the torque wrench worked great, but its LCD displays are quite small and often difficult to read without paying close attention to the lighting. This has definitely been solved with the GoPro's bright LED lighting. Another thing we had to be aware of is that the wrench will turn itself off after a timeout to save batteries. Also, we did a test one day and found the key was off because we forgot to reset the power off time at the beginning of the test. This is a user error, but you should keep an eye on it. This can be a problem if it turns off and you snag something while waiting for the buzzer to turn off. I haven't checked if it's possible to set a longer shutdown delay. With that in mind, this is definitely recommended for the kind of continuous reading tests we ran. Worked great for us!
