Grease the threads to make them slippery and use a wrench. My ball joints on my '97 F150 4X4 have been pretty rusty since they came from the factory. Put pressure on them, put the old head on them and hit them with a hammer. After 2-3 times they came out immediately. Installation was easy with one tool. Glad I had it otherwise I would have used a blue socket wrench to take them off. Also better than a 3 pound sled beating the cat out of everything.
