I used to have an old version that had tea tree oil in it and was told it didn't taste like vanilla. Since then I have tried many other toothpastes. Enzymatic toothpastes caused diarrhea in my dog, as did the gel. First, I look for all the security ingredients. He has problems with pancreatitis. I ordered this toothpaste and found that tea tree oil is not on the label of the toothpaste itself. I also love the vanilla flavor. I was concerned as tea tree oil was a problem from what I had read, but other websites said it was good for fighting bacteria. We tried it, he liked it. When he sees my husband with his toothbrush and smells the toothpaste, he gets excited. My husband sits on the couch and Griffin jumps right next to him, ready to go. There are no health problems with this toothpaste.
