I needed a wall mount that spans 3 supports to get to the wall mounted unit which had my GC on a support left and right of the center TV bracket on a level with power and data connections in the wall, which requires an open design with a narrow rib in between. This mount meets all of these requirements. Installation was a breeze, the included screws dug into pilot holes drilled in the block of wood and securely fastened the bracket to the wall, and the several-pound plasma TV now hangs from a bracket. vertical adjustment range to better position the tv, this worked well for me as my center surround speaker is above the tv and I was able to move the bracket to leave the optimum spacing. Other mounts might get you a little closer to the wall, but they're only good for a lighter TV. This is suitable when you need to hang a heavy TV.
