I bought this bottle to make small batches of one gallon wines because I didn't want to make 5 gallons from a new recipe that may or may not be good. The glass is thicker than I expected which is great. I like the wide opening, it's MUCH easier to clean. Each batch of gallons makes about 4 bottles of wine, which is great for trying out new options like lemon wine! I was concerned about the lid, but it's a lot stronger than I thought it would be. I've made 3 batches so far and have another and the bottle is holding up great.
