Okay, if so I wasn't quite sure how this thing would even work. This is my first experience with a percolator. A few weeks ago we took it on a trip to the Grand Canyon and we use it to make coffee over the open fire every morning. It took about 15 minutes to heat up and make coffee. The floor was blackened with soot. But it will be clear soon. The coffee was delicious. In fact, I was impressed and a little intrigued by how it works. I figured I would have to make all 20 cups and there was only 2 of us, but I could easily make 4 cups at a time.
