Very pleased with the glove support

I bought the 14oz Hayabusa's, when I first got them they were very stiff and rubbed my wrist due to the stiffness. I had read other reviews and they said the same thing. I continued to wear them because I was assured they would loosen up.I have now had them for a month and sure enough they are much more comfortable.I like them for the double strap and wrist and thumb support. I am a hairstylist and with the constant wrist and thumb movement I am very aware of the effects of carpal tunnel.I am…

Pros
  • As described
Cons
  • Durability of gloves may be questionable

Excellent wrist support

These are well made gloves with excellent wrist support. They have good velcro closures which my husband really likes. My son uses these on his punching bag. Your hand feels good inside the glove--nice fit on my son's slimmer hands (he is 16, and about 5'7 and 145 lbs. right now-husband is smaller) These are much nicer than our Everlast gloves, which are good, but these really do have superior wrist protection. They do have a very strong odor, but we are hoping that is going to dissipate…

Pros
  • Bought these for my husband as a present. He really liked them. Durable and great quality.
Cons
  • May cause discomfort or blisters during extended training sessions

Double Velcro Strap Design Flaw

The second velcro strap sticks to your handwraps like crazy! My hands are a bit bigger so the fit is tight but it's pretty much impossible to put on without help. This is particularly frustrating at the gym when you need to quickly switch from gloves to pads for partner work. The build quality is very good and everything else is in line with what others have complemented these gloves on. However, the strap design is a deal-breaker and disappointing since I had high expectations.

Pros
  • Very good!
Cons
  • Not ideal for competition use

BEST and velcro is great

BEST gloves. I had Everlast, Ringside and RDX gloves. This is the BEST by far, I am never getting from another brand.VELCRO IS PERFECT! All you need to do is not pull it all the way out that exposes the velcro on the inside which causes sticking. As you're putting your wrapped hand in the glove, the velcro section should be slightly tightened to not show velcro. After your hand goes in, pull the velcro, then cover. All set! I love how these gloves wrap around the wrist, perfect shape before it…

Pros
  • ‎16 x 8 x 5 inches
Cons
  • Could require frequent adjustments during training

Excellent choice good for me

The Ikusa Charged gloves have an excellent fit and feel for our workouts. These 16oz gloves are most recommended for sparring. They are secondarily recommended for pads and a heavy bag. We've been very happy with the performance on the mitts and pads. The gloves have softened a bit because they were very stiff out of the package.Although the all-around quality and feel is very good in my estimation, the best feature is the wrist enclosure from Hayabusa's Dual-X system. We both have slender…

Pros
  • Superior quality engineered leather and exclusive inner lining for a perfect fit and feel
Cons
  • May not be suitable for users with hand or wrist injuries

Well built but small

Super right, and I have small hands. Didn’t feel very supportive and gloves seem smaller in size, so less coverage when it comes to blocking.

Cons
  • Stitching may come apart after extended use

Smelly Way To Get Well Padded Gloves

These are well-padded gloves that wrap tight to your hand. I have used around 5 different 16oz gloves for bag exercises. These are on the high end of the ones I have tried. To get straight to the point, the reason why you would want to purchase these are for the tightness for which they wrap and stay on your hands and for the all-around padding. I have extra-large, skinny hands with long fingers. These are pretty tight on me. While I like the latter as they fit.well, like a glove, they may be a…

the reason why i give three stars is because on .

the reason why i give three stars is because on the right glove on the inside lining its loosening towards the fingers to where I cannot get to the grip bar and the more I pull down to grip the bar it starts moving back I have always been a huge fan of Hayabusa

Pros
  • Superior Padding: The Hayabusa Ikusa Charged MMA Training Gloves feature a dual-x closure system and a 4-layer foam structure that makes them incredibly shock-resistant, making them an ideal choice for training and sparring.
Cons
  • Limited customization options

Fits like a glove. - my new review

I have never found a glove like the Ikusa Charged 12oz that fits quite as well as this one yet. (I have a square-shaped 8.5" circumference palm.) My knuckles contact in perfect alignment with the bag based on the gloves shape, and the wrist support is next to none, so I never needed wraps when wearing these. I hope this line of products is continued. It has served me especially well for the past 1.3 years and my power punches have only recently been able to flatten the glove's knuckle…

Secure and protective

Great fit! They are comfortable and secure. Very protective, especially with my history of a wrist injury. May not fit all hand sizes comfortably.

Snug, comfortable, no slip

The most comfortable gloves i’ve ever owned. Love them! First day breaking them in was a breeze in Muay Thai! Do your hands a favor!

Cons
  • Grip on gloves may be slick or ineffective

I thought I would use these but.

to use these for exercise but they were just too big for me and I don't think I'm ready for boxing for exercise. My son does use boxing and this is his thoughts-- For a person that boxes for exercise these gloves work perfect. They are a good size, I have large hands but they are comfortable and don't feel cramp even with my hands wrapped. I recommend these gloves for any recreational boxer

Pros
  • Sports
Cons
  • Could cause skin irritation or chafing

Awesome quality and design

Awesome quality and design! You can't go wrong with Hayabusa gloves in general, mine have been used heavily for 4 years and still are in good shape. Great wrist support as well.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • Does not provide adequate padding for striking with elbows or knees

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality, very slim fit

These are good quality gloves that are great for heavy bag work. They provide excellent wrist support and the substantial padding offers very good overall hand protection. They are constructed of a man-made leather type material that does have a chemical odor straight out of the box (this dissipated after the gloves were aired out for 24 hours).Fit: This could be an issue for someone with large hands, as the fit is very snug. My husband generally wears a L/XL glove size, and these gloves are a…

Pros
  • High Quality Durability: Made with top-grade synthetic leather, these gloves are designed to withstand the rigorous demands of MMA training. They provide exceptional durability, meaning that you won't have to worry about them wearing out or needing constant replacements anytime soon
Cons
  • Design may be too flashy for some users' preferences

I think that the fit, wrist tightness, and padding on these gloves is fantastic. The one downside that I'll mention is the chemical odor from the "engineered" leather. Please know upfront that I'm not an experienced boxer and am myself still learning about boxing gloves, but I'll share what I can about this model.I really wish that they would allow these to outgas more at the factory before putting them into a plastic bag for consumers. I could smell them even before I opened the…

Pros
  • ‎10oz
Cons
  • Awkward fit or shape may make gloves more difficult to put on and take off

High Quality Gloves

These Hayabusa Ikusa Charged Gloves are very comfortable to wear and have strong wrist support. The material used inside and out are of great quality. The design is perfect for an even and forceful punch.I recommend it!

Pros
  • Boxing Gloves
Cons
  • Padding may be too dense for some users

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Definitely a hit! for my opinion

I got these because I want to get a punching bag and start working out, I know these are more for in ring but I couldn't resist. What good quality! Been doing some punching and these don't even have a scuff. They fit well with a lot of support for the wrist. They are not heavy and I am enjoying them very much. This company has my attention!

Pros
  • A little bit big for me
Cons
  • Solid gloves for the price. Decent go too for a pair without spending too much

Velcro straps can be a bit distracting.

Shipping was fast and package arrived sooner than expected.I’ve been training western boxing and muy thai for years. The gloves are pretty stiff upon arrival. I imagine after a few hard sessions they’ll be fine. I bought the 14oz glove. They are a little snug but I do have some room in the fingers. The velcro wrist straps can be a little confusing and adjusting. The double Velcro does provide extra support. I can definitely tell the difference when throwing power strikes. My wrist feels a lot…
