Home Cafe Review for Kitchen and Dining

I checked out Phillips, Melitta and B and D. Maybe I went for Phillips but couldn't find it in white, heard too many complaints about Melitta coffee but that might be nice, it's each person's personal taste but my wife and I supposedly drink Colombian Folgers. I used to drink a lot of Starbucks but just burned out on this one, now we only have one cup in the morning. I used a Millstone Colombian Supremo and it turned out to be a really good cup of coffee too, reminding me of one of the very light Starbucks coffee blends, too strong but not overpowering and not like a French roast blend with a smoky one Taste. . Much better tasting than my B and D VersaBrews which have served us well for years. Pros: Fast, quiet, easy cleaning, looks like the water reserve is bigger than other brands, the reserve seeped a few drops onto the rubber neck until I wiggled the plastic valve up and down a few times and then it settled. . The spare wheel slides out very easily and stands up on its own. I would advise using the 14oz side of the pod holder for small cups as well. I think some people had leakage issues. If using the 7-9 ounce side, make sure the pad edges are down. I use one pod for a 9 ounce cup of coffee, B and D fit in tall mugs or travel mugs just under 6 inches high, but the Starbucks tall plastic travel mug is too big for 6 3/4 inches. Cons: The hand that pushes the pod is a little hard to open and close, and as someone else said, it might not be very strong for a long time, and I want it to open higher than it is, it requires some maneuvers Pull out the capsule holder. This is where Phillips really puts other brands in the shade. I think at some point B and D will have to change that. Overall, I am very, very satisfied with the home cafe!
