After purchasing the Black & Decker Home Cafe System I thought this would be the best invention for a single college student. My first impression was the lack of quality and detail. The handle to open the lid was so weak that I was afraid of breaking it the first time I opened it. I can't help but agree with other reviewers on how awful this machine is. It really needs 0 stars. Not only did water flow out of the shaft and lukewarm coffee was produced, the coffee was completely undrinkable because it smelled and tasted like burnt plastic. I bought my first coffee maker in October 2004. It worked fine for several months, but gradually began to fall apart. Cheap plastic parts cannot withstand the steam pressure during the brewing process.
