. I've had mine for over 4 years now. The only problem I had in the beginning was that I removed the water tank to fill it up and it leaked after I put it back in, but it was my fault for not submerging it deep enough. I don't remove it afterwards, I refilled it with a jug and it never drips again. I think this is a design flaw - they shouldn't have made the tank removable. I have a friend who loved mine so she got one from her. She died in just a few months - the element did not warm up. But she liked it so much that she bought another one and now she has had it for 2 years. She has no problem with it and drinks several cups a day. And she doesn't take the tank off either. As for the taste: I use it every day and buy quite expensive capsules, but I've never felt a plastic or "alien" taste from my typewriter. And in relation to those who complain that they have a hard time closing it. I do not understand that. It's simple, hold the top down and pull the lever towards you. I can do it with one hand. For those interested in buying you have to keep in mind that like all machines these machines are mass produced and come off the assembly line incorrectly - bad item, pipe not attached, bad gasket etc. When you get it. DO NOT REMOVE TANK. Fill it up and run it a few times without pods to rinse it out. I'm telling you, if mine died today, I'd be right here at Revain and ordering another one, I wouldn't think about it. I think it's one of those things: you really love it or you really hate it.
