Review on 🔧 Tuff Stuff Tools 4-7/8 Inch Brass Plated Strike Plate with Large Hole by Chris Hayes

This is a VERY strong striker. I used it to replace an old two hole keep from an old mortise lock and kept in my 100 year old house. Although it only has one hole, it is long enough to accommodate both the original door latch latch and the latch underneath. The screws are very small as they usually are, but I used locally purchased #9 x 3" star drive screws and was able to screw them into the 2x4 pad behind the door frame. An old castle like this. It also looks good if you just don't like the polished brass finish, all the other hardware nearby is polished brass so I'm happy with that. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid and beautiful this piece is. In my case I didn't need to embed a panel. There was plenty of room in the door frame between the door butt and the frame. If your door is very tight to the frame you will need to hollow out some wood from the front of the door frame to make it fit.
