Review on πŸ“Ί AGPTEK 1080P Media Player: High Definition HDMI/AV/VGA Output for USB Drive/SD Card, Supports RMVB/MKV/JPEG & More, Remote Control Included by Mike Pfettscher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Large storage capacity for a small price

I mainly use this AGPTEK media player to play music, but also some movies and pictures. I downloaded most of my music library to a 128GB SD card and movies and photos to a USB stick. The music player sounds great. It displays the dashboard on your monitor/TV like a car's video display, showing album art and typical album and artist information. You also get a timeline and graphs of colored bouncy blocks that act as sound level meters. I connected the AGPTEK optical output to my Yamaha digital audio receiver. Video from AGPTEK is routed to a separate monitor via the included AV cable. Video looks very good with HDMI and decent with AV. This player has flexible output options (HDMI, AV, Optical, VGA) so you can mix and match what you want to see and hear. You are limited to one video output and one audio output. The included remote control is conveniently arranged with buttons for instant access to three types of media. There are zoom and ratio buttons for videos and photos, as well as a repeat/shuffle option. It even has its own volume control. It's a compact player but not very portable as it needs to be plugged into the mains using the adapter that comes with it. I recommend using an HDMI cable for better picture and sound quality instead of the cheap AV cable that comes with it. (The one I have doesn't output audio on the left channel). This wasn't an obstacle for me as I wanted to use digital sound. You will need your own optical or HDMI cable. Otherwise a 5 star product for under $40. If you cannot view video from this media player, try pressing the button on the remote control that corresponds to your video connection (AV, HDMI, VGA). ", which will make your picture disappear! I believe YUV is for component video but it doesn't seem to do anything. I assume this button applies to other models of this media player that actually have a component exit function .
