Review on Enhanced R-134a A/C Automotive Coupler Set by Robinair with High/Low Side Automatic Functionality by Hunter Schneider

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I have an older set of better quality Robinaire 134a distributors but no viewing window or housing

I bought this manifold set because it's a product from Robinair who make some pretty decent cooling tools. I wanted one with a sight glass and a molded body to hold it, hoses and adapters in. I have an older Robinaire 134a header kit which is higher quality but does not have a viewing window or housing. This one is made in China and the quality is ok. The low-pressure gauge had to be recalibrated because it showed positive pressure instead of zero. Splitter valves feel cheap/inferior when opening and closing. The hoses look ok and the quick disconnects look ok, but the mechanism that pushes the shredders into the cooling lines also feels cheap. After looking at it and thinking about how much I paid I decided I would send it back and buy another one. Unfortunately, after carefully reviewing everything Revain sells, I decided to keep this one to myself. The only American made machine I see that has a sight glass, long hoses, and a molded body is the Master Cool, but their quick couplers don't have valves. This means that when you put them on you release pressure when they snap into place and the same when you take them off. I expected a lot more from Robiner so I was a bit disappointed. I will use this one and if it disappoints in service I will update this review.
