Okay, I remember paying $12 for this hose which is 1/3 the price on the Dyson website. Good quality hose - identical to the original as far as I can tell. The bottom mount required a wiggle to install, but it's ok. This is a quality hose. However, as other users have pointed out, the top mount is a nightmare. If your process is the same as mine, you've already glued the original hose before replacing this one. As a result I had adhesive residue on the stock shaft which I cleaned off with rubbing alcohol before attempting to insert #1. Do not go. The little white buttons are a nightmare. Okay, paste attempt #2 contained some WD-40. No don't go Insertion attempt #3 was preceded by forcibly removing the white knob assembly with a screwdriver. I just ripped it out in one piece. I received the wand piece. That was hard. I'm more of a small person so it might be easier for others, but it was a beast. There was no loss of functionality by removing the white button node. It is so strong that no additional fastening is required. So it's on and running, but the force required to move the top hose mount down the pipe is so great that the hose snaps right where the old one broke. , and probably earlier because I have to pull harder. If I have enough for one year, I'm happy. The Dyson hose lasted three years and cost three times as much, so that's really a small deal.
