Review on ProCare Adjustable Square Toe Post-Operative Shoe by Eric Schwalbe

I like supportive post op shoes more every day

I wear Darby style post op shoes due to an injury and concomitant surgery on one of my feet. I've tried many different cam shoes and boots over the years and lately I've tried many different ways to find shoes that offer support, stay secure, aren't too heavy, are flexible enough and are comfortable to wear in all conditions. the day is long. I only wear my shoes for a few months at a time because they still smell like feet even after washing them and I can't get rid of the smell. I bought these shoes for the simple one-piece forefoot strap and ankle support that were just a tad taller than a standard post-op shoe. I wear a size 10 shoe and it fits my feet comfortably without being too tight and the velcro closure allows me to provide varying degrees of compression, attachment and support. When I walk I don't feel the shoe is very smooth compared to one of my other shoes which has a better rear heel for walking. However, after wearing the shoes for a few days, my goal and running pattern changes to accommodate the shoe and I no longer feel like I have a brick tied to the bottom of my foot. These shoes are beautiful and easy to clean with a warm cloth and some soap and I love wearing them. The top of the foot and toe box need constant adjustment throughout the day, but that's due to my condition, not the quality or design of the shoes. I like the ankle strap but the non-adhesive side slides down towards the toe like most of these shoes, but this only detracts from the aesthetics and does not affect the comfort of the shoe. The bottom of the shoe tread is corrugated, the tread is probably 16 inches deep and it's very easy to clean with a rag and hot water or a nylon brush. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and I think it's a fair and good value product given the market conditions. I'm excited to see how it will look, feel and smell after a few months of constant use and washing.
