Review on 60W Dimmable LED Driver - Compatible W/ Lutron & Leviton Dimming For Strip Lights, Cabinet Lights, Puck & Module Lighting by Aaron Kindler

Excellent replacement for cheap OEM-supplied power supplies.

When you receive this power supply and compare it to what it replaces, it's pretty obvious where the OEM saved money. This power supply is much larger than the ones typically found in pre-built LED light assemblies: volumetrically, about 2x!However, it fits nicely, features a built-in ground connection, and seems to treat my LED dies to a much better experience than the OEM stuff. Thus, where OEM power supplies cause my LED dies to burn out over time (presumably due to crummy current/voltage regulation) all lamps using this power supply are happy and work as expected.FWIW, the failure mode is the lamps going into burp mode where the lamp will blink on and off as its current limits are reached. Typically, at least one LED die will have had a bad hair day, causing the whole assembly to go bad. Thus, if your light has this sort of failure mode, you need to replace not only the cause of the problem (using this excellent power supply, for example) but also the damaged LED emitter.I use this power supply inside visible-light assemblies that I've modified to take 365nm emitters instead (UV-A, aka blacklight, to make fluorescent colors pop at night).

Pros
  • Built-in fault protection- Power Supply Auto reset protection in case of lighting overload, open-circuit, short-circuit, over-temperature or over voltage
Cons
  • Despite the manufacturer's claims, many users have reported that the LED driver has a short lifespan compared to other LED drivers, which makes it a significant investment for a shorter duration
